An innovative electro-optical specialist company based near Crawley is seeking an enthusiastic Systems Engineer to join their growing Engineering team.

If you have systems engineering experience within a defence engineering (Or similar) company, then you could be the ideal candidate to help develop high their performance targeting and surveillance equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Capture and management
• Functional and Physical Systems Architecture Design and Definition.
• System Modelling.
• Development of Engineering Management Plans (Safety Management, Test
• Integration & Acceptance, Technical Risk Management).
• Gathering of verification evidence for System Requirements.
• Creation of Procurement Specifications for sub-systems and components.
• Writing test specifications.
• Conducting Design reviews.
• Environmental Qualification Plans (EMC, Temperature, Shock & Vibration)

Key Requirements:

Essential

• 1 -3 years’ systems engineering experience in a defence engineering (or similar) company.
• Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
•  Experience with the use of requirements management tools (DOORS, Visure or R4J)
• Jira workplace management experience.
• Report Writing.

Desirable

• Involvement in Full Development Lifecycle of a product.
• Experience in working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
• Working in multi-disciplinary teams on projects with a high level of complexity.
• Safety Management (MIL-STD 882E, DEF-STAN 00-56, ISO 12100:2010).
•  Statutory Compliance (CE Marking).
• Camera Sensor Technology (InfraRed and visible spectrum, DRI performance).
• Fault-Tree and Failure Mode Analysis.
